I have a BA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art. I worked full-time as an editorial artist at the New York Daily News for over a decade. My freelance work has appeared in New York Times, Ms. Magazine, The Village Voice, etc. I currently do more scientific based illustration for publication but also continue to paint, draw, photograph, sculpt and make prints with a press. One thing a fellow artist friend said to me really struck a chord with me: Art is about keeping the conversation going. Maybe because I was originally trained as an illustrator or maybe because of my experience working at a daily newspaper – I think art is a kind of narrative that can speak volumes and thereby (hopefully) sparking connections between people.
