Abstract painting is an opportunity for me to go within myself to allow the invisible to become visible on the canvas. I do not know where the paint will take me. The initial plan is to put on canvas an inner experience that flows from my hand. By painting with brushes and other tools, I am able to manipulate the paint and mold it into sculptural forms on a flat surface. It is the process that excites me. The challenge is to allow the paint to have its own voice that comes from my inner being. The stories and emotions that result because of this process, create a personal, interactive dialogue between the painting and the viewer. It is my aim to give the viewer a choice, an experience, an idea, a reaction, an opportunity to create a story that is different or parallels my own.
