Trine Giaever

Trine went to Rhode Island School of Design for her BA in Illustration and the New York Academy of Art for her MA in Painting. She is an illustrator, painter, and printmaker. She worked as a full-time artist in the editorial graphics department at the New York Daily News for over a decade. (She was the first woman hired in their graphics department!) She worked for the Associated Press as well and has had her illustrations appear in publications such as the New York Times, the Village Voice and Ms. Magazine.

 

She now makes graphics and drawings for scientific publications such as Nature Reviews Genetics; Plos Genetics; Molecular Biology of the Cell etc. One of her paintings was recently selected for a jigsaw puzzle company. She has exhibited her work all over the United States including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, California. She exhibited her work in Norway; four shows at Oslo's city hall. Alright-Knox Museum has a piece she created in her teens in their collection.
